Vanessa Bishop Nominated for 2024 Debra Levy Award
The Debra Levy Award was created at the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Chapter conference of ALCA to honor the memory of one of our founding members, who died at the age of 59, after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor.
This year, ECC founder Vanessa Bishop was honored to be nominated for the award. The following is excepted from the letter of nomination.
“It is with much honor and privilege that I am writing to submit a nomination for Vanessa Bishop, LICSW, CMC, C-ASWCM for The Debra Levy Award.
Vanessa has been an ALCA member for over 20 years, including holding the position as Treasurer for two of those years. She has given her time, energy and loyalty to ALCA and knows the tremendous benefits it provides the community. Her dedication to ALCA and her Care Management company, Elder Care Consultants, has made her a monumental asset to the Care Management community. Her peers look to her for guidance and support, and she is proactive in reaching out to the community for collaboration as well.
It is often said that when Vanessa takes on a case, it’s taken on with 110% attention. She leaves no detail undone and goes above and beyond to assist her clients and their family members. She will get the job accomplished with her full attention, passion, compassion and professionalism. No matter the referral, that person can feel confident and at ease knowing that Vanessa and her team will have their loved one’s best interest in mind and be a valuable advocate.
Her knowledge and experience in the Geriatric field has provided all of her clients with exceptional service. She not only tends to her own clients, but also manages a team of outstanding Care Managers whom she mentors and empowers to provide the best care possible to their own clients.
I thank you for considering Vanessa for this award.”
