Helping Reston Seniors Understand Their Options
As a resident of Reston, Virginia for more than 20 years, I have always wanted to give back to Reston and our seniors. As an Aging Life Care Professional, I have found that many do not have the necessary resources at their fingertips to understand their options as they age.
It has been an honor to work with seniors with emphasis on educating them about resources based on their needs, wishes and desires. So, I am excited to be volunteering with Reston for a Lifetime, a nonprofit organization with a mission to educate and inform the community about how to age in place and enable neighbors to help older neighbors stay independent as long as possible.
My role is help make sure we offer the best guidance and resources possible to our community. Given my educational and work background, I know I can help our senior community in advance care planning as well as crisis intervention if necessary.
Reston for Life offers a free monthly newsletter, a resource-rich website and occasional webinars. www.restonforalifetime.org.
