Michelle Mitchell has over 12 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. At Elder Care Consultants, Michelle assists families navigate the complexities of the healthcare system by conducting a comprehensive assessment which in turn allows her to educate, counsel and advocate on their behalf.

After working several years as charge nurse of the emergency department, Michelle has cared for some of the most medically complex patients from neonates to geriatrics. Over the last seven years, Michelle has specialized in assessing and evaluating the geriatric population providing families with resources and solutions.

She has experience in home care, home health, hospice, Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory impairment, Parkinson’s, cancer, stroke, congestive heart failure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and medication management. Michelle’s proactive versus reactive approach to care helps her keep clients out of the hospital and living the highest quality of life as independently as possible.

A native of Northern Virginia, Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Minor Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration, all from George Mason University.  Michelle is a Certified Dementia Practitioner.  She is an active member of the Gerontological Advance Practice Association.
